Good evening! New coin chatter here! Been looking for a new place to chat about coins and other things besides the one chat that I"m familiar with.....ebay coin chat. Hope to meet some new friends in here and maybe talk to some others in here that I already know if/when I bump into some of them.
Thanks for the warm greeting MaestroPCG....mostly all US coin types but lately on early Commemoratives. Been trying to buy them all in MS 63+ grade. Also have a decent collection of Redfield slabs and a sprinkling of gold coins. My other main interest is sample slabs which I have probably 150+ different. What do you collect?
They sure are Becky! I'm about as easy going a person as is on this planet, or at least I try to be, and, that board is "run" by two or three know it alls who try to put people down and I finally decided I'd had enough of them. One other poster quit that same day who'd been on the board for a long time and had a ton of knowledge to share and was ridiculed by the "authority" over there. I don't know a whole lot about coins, but I'm not stupid about them either. Anyhow, glad to meet some new folks on a different forum! Btw...my user id here is the same as my ebay user id. )
ga...I collect US types as well. Working on my second (Dansco) type album...still need three of the commems in there. My favorite commemorative of all time is the Oregon Trail. Beautiful coin. Do you have that one? Only have a few gold, but of course I want more...just wish I had bought them 3-4 years ago. I did get a great deal on a Saint back when gold was only about $450/ounce. pCG
Welcome to the forum! I collect mostly US coins while I buy a world coin every now and then----my main collections are: Proof Franklin Halves in PF66 and Washington Quarters in AU/BU. Right now I'm upgrading some of my dates and buying key date coins that I don't have....in the best grades I can afford....my last key date buy was a 1909-S IHC in VF. Speedy
Maestro/Speedy, I have a type set completed too and also started on the second one. All the coins in mine are in AU or better shape except for the early coppers. The gold coins are the ones that really set me back though! Everytime I go to the bank box, I pull that book out to look at as it's my pride and joy except for those early coppers, but give me a little time and I'll see about an upgrade on them! Seems there's so many things to collect out there! I kinda got stopped on the second set of type coins when I got interested in the commemorative coins, and no, don't have the Oregon Trail coin yet.
