I took a bit of a hiatus to change the category system. What do you think? I believe i'm getting close to having a functional price guide. Note: I'm still missing a few categories. New http://cointrends.org/category.php Old http://cointrends.org/price.php
Are you a profressional? I am proud of you, the site is awesome! Easy to navigate, easy on the eyes and functional.
Comment, on the kennedy halves, the ms65 price is $323, whereas the ms66 was $27 or something. fyi. not sure how the data is populated, so might of been a typo
The main grid is an avg of the last few sales. It appears there is an issue with this method because in this case, there was an error Kennedy which sold for a few thousand in that grade. This raised the avg price substantially. Unfortunately PCGS dosen't publish the error variety through their coin lookup. I'll have to work out a way to drop the error coins out of the database. Thanks for reporting the bug. I'll post on the site when i fix the bug.
median + mode / 2. Or maybe drop the highest and lowest and then take average. Both have benefits and drawbacks. Maybe ((median + mode / 2) + (drop the highest and lowest and then take average. )) / 2 ?
Thanks for directing me to cointrends.org ! Hello breakintheweb, Cointrends.org is now one of my favorites. Awesome information. The first coin I looked for was an 1885 V-nickel in MS. The date is not listed so I guess there have been no internet sales for your database. I bought my PCGS example in a private sale. Very best regards, collect89
Nice site. It did take a little longer than I would have liked to load the actual price lists. I am running a slow old computer so that may be all on my end if no one else is experiencing it too.
I'm in the process of moving the site to a new server which should take effect in a few hours. The new server should allow me to archive the auctions faster and hopefully add more auction houses to the mix. I'm thinking about adding the images of the coins back to the site. Not sure where I stand with regard to copyright if i do that. I have about 50% of the Long beach auction added to the database. Orlando Fun is about 80% complete. The biggest challenge is automating the entire process. The site was an attempt to more easily compare coin prices on ebay and is evolving into a repository for all coin auctions. Thanks everyone for your support and kind words. as always comments and suggestions are encouraged. :hail:
Update: Added the Sunday and Tuesday HA auctions to the database Site moved to new server error coins removed from price guide calculation Long beach and Orlando fun HA data almost complete Upcoming plans: Add a separate page for error coins. Add remaining missing categories (eagles, territorial gold, etc) tonight or tomorrow. Add NGC coins Possible additions: Raw Coins Cert number tracking (track all sales of a particular coin over the years) Coin images
Just got the NGC Crawler working!!!!!! THe NGC coins are being kept seperate from the PCGS coins. I'm afraid of a scuffle if i put then in the same DB Please let me know of any errors you see. http://cointrends.org/category_ngc.php
You dont have values for club ray fugios etc. or for any fugio under EF35. Very nice site though. :thumb:
nice site :thumb: when i looked at some of the coins, and choose "all" grades, the grade 'header' went off the screen, while the coin that were listed didnt, but had a scroll bar. the two didnt line up and when you used the scroll bar, it didnt move the header... hopefully that all made sense lol
Can you send me the link in which you experienced the problem? Also, what web browser are you using. Most of my development has been with firefox so it may look/work better with firefox. -Justin
could be my broweser, i am using IE... one of the pages was this one but every page i visited had the same thing happen when i selected 'all' grades at the top.
