Thoughts on grades? The Half looks to have an old cleaning. If I was almost 200 years old I can accept being cleaned once or twice. ;) It's a shame about the two carbon spots on the Obverse.

I won't attempt to grade these but I had to mention what looks like a die clash under the chin at the neck on the Buffalo obverse. I love my errors. The Buffalo looks like it has some late stage die stress going on, not sure if this will affect the value or grade. The others will chime in soon.

    The $1/2 is XF-40 details.

The Buff: The reverse looks 'funky' to me.

    But, hey, I wear glasses

Despite the wear I think the half is the better of the two.

I think the nickel is just very late die stage. I see very little if any wear on the high points.

Agreed, I believe the nickel is MS and should grade cleanly at around 63. It is not well struck, but I see no wear. The half is XF details, I doubt it would grade problem free.

Completely agree. The nickel has a few small nicks and the dies were really worn so I wasn't sure how the grade would be affected. No way the half grades w/o details on it. Picked the nickel up for $50 so felt like a decent deal for a 1st year coin.
