Okay so I'm not the quickest person in the world, but I just noticed that the new bills (20 and 10) don't have which federal reserve bank the bill was issued from in that little round seal on the front. Can you still tell by the letter of serial number, or does that even mean anything anymore? Why did they change this?
if your serial number is BD12341234A, then the D is the bank. B is the series marking. A i believe is the run. A=boston B=new york C=philidelphia D=Cleveland E=Richmond F=Atlanta G=Chicago H=St. Luois I=Minneapolis J=Kansas City K=Dallas L=San Francisco
i tend to disagree... i'm not a BIG fan of the BIG head... i like the older style bills personally. It seems (if you look in the past) that as time goes on, the designs get more and more ugly. Let's all remember the educational notes... masterpieces
yeah... you think my 1999 plymouth neon is going to be admired one day as a classic? it won't even make it that far...
I think they did a pretty good job with the new $20 and the new $10,bt have to admit that the older styles seem more attractive. Not too long ago, I got the trio of Educationals (had the $1, but not the other two), and the $5 is probably my all-time favorite note.
