As we know The Benjamin Franklin Commemorative silver proofs sold out in a few days. Well I missed the boat. No I see these yahoos selling them on ebay for up to $80-$130 dollars a pop, they don't even have them in their posesseion yet, promissing to send them to the winner as soon as it is received from the Mint. I have a dilema here. I want these coins BAD! I'm trigger shy about bidding on something someone doesn't even posess. I would rather spend less than these guys are asking. Is it possible once the mint ships these coins that there will be better prices out there? Will I find better prices on these coins in the shops or at the shows once they ship? any input would be appreciated.
Ben Franklin Commen's Jim, I have a large shipment of these on order. I will be listing them first on this web site in the open section where coins for sale are listed. I should be able to fill your needs. It's funny I asked the same question and posted it right after yours but from a seller's standpoint. Thanks, BWJR
Only time will tell but I would probably hold off until the coins ship from mint. I'm sure the prices will be high either way but that way you won't have to wait long after auction to receive.
from a buyer's perspective I recommend patience. Find a dealer who you can visit in person and who ordered some. Let him know you'd like one and get it there when they arrive. This should get you a better price than paying the hyped up ebay prices.
