New aquisition..... 1907 $2-1/2

    Just picked this up from a local coin shop. I known its a common date but it might be worth sending it off to get graded anyway...

    Very nice coin!.. Not sure in my own mind that it would go 66 but it might despite a bit of what looks like cheek chatter and a small nick in the field above the L. Looks to have great luster. Overall a lovely coin. Kind of counteracts the argument that all nice coins have already been slabbed.

    I think it is a 65. You can send it in, if you want it graded. Don’t expect any grade surprises with this one—nice coin.

    I’d leave her be. Definitely a MS-64 and should make a MS-65.

    NGC called this an MS-67.

    I would get that coin certified. The grade will probably support it, and slabs provide protection for soft gold coins.
