It’s been awhile since my last post on here and since then I’ve got a few more for my collection and wanted to share them with all of you. The three of these are off of Vcoins and all three sellers were excellent. So if you’ve yet to buy from them I recommend them. Domitian came from Aegean Numismatics, Gallienus from Romanarum and Volusian from Marc Breitsprecher. The last one is from 1600s Venice and would appreciate some help attributing it. I got it at a local coin shop a few days ago and it caught my eye but unfortunately I don’t know anything Venetian currency.
I kindly advise you to post the last one at the 'World Coins " section of this site. 1600's coins belong to Renaissance not Ancient. They'd better know. Good luck.
That's a cool Volusian, and I dig that Venetian coin. I have a coins with the kneeling Doge and banner, but the lion is on the other side. Republic of Venice, AR Soldino, 1329-1339 AD O: Doge Francesco Dandolo, + FRA DAN DVLO DVX; R: Nimbate lion with banner, S MAROVS VENETI, 18 mm, 1.1g
