New additions to the collections. Did I get a fair price?

Hey all. I've been back on the coin hunt on a local scale. I frequent "we buy gold" stores near me and sometimes find interesting pieces. I know I should look for quality specimens but when I see a coin I don't own its hard to pass up. Here are some coins I recently added that I didn't have in my collection before.
I spent:
1804 certified and counter marked 8 reales (Mexico city) 35$ vf20
1925 standing liberty quarter 6$ f15
1908o barber quarter 6$ f15
1916s barber dime 3$ g10
1825 large cent penny 10$ poor condition
1889 Indians head cent 30$ EF35-40
1939 Canadian dollar $25 vf20

did I overspend? I may be a bit generous with my grading system but I do not plan to resell

Yeah, you did a little. The 1889 Indian looks light in color, which probably has been cleaned at one point. The important thing is you enjoy your purchase, that's what matters most.

 

Eh, you probably did by a bit overall. The Indian cent definately appears to be cleaned and I can't give an accurate grade from the pics, but $30 for a pretty common date is AU money so you probably paid too much for that. the Canadian dollar is basically worth melt only in its condition so you paid a few bucks too much there...not too bad. Overall, the Indian cent is the only one that is really out of range in my opinion. i don't collect Indians but i think its more like a 5-10 dollar coin if that. Again...it could just be the picture.

 

Thanks. That was my original thought but it came in a package with the 8reales so I figured I'd take a loss for that coin. I looked at it as if I paid 60 for the 8 reale and 5 for the penny. Either way I still slightly over paid. Thanks for responses. Any thoughts on my 1825 large cent purchase? To me that was my favorite even though its in such poor condition. Date and most of legend on back are visible except for 'united' in the United States of america.

 

I also don't collect large cents, but even really poor examples go for up to like $20 from what I've seen so I think you did fine.

And if it is your favorite, thats all that matters anyway.

 

You did okay on the Large Cent. These are my favorite coins over anything else I collect.

For reference, a site I purchase a lot of coins from, as well as use for research, is a site by Tom Deck (very notable and popular in the Large Cent world). I looked up your Large Cent on that site (by year) and if you could put a variety on it, seems like you did pretty darn good!
