John, Great score ! This Celtic coin looks like abstraction on steroids . What are the dimensions of the coin ? My Celtic stater, pictured below, is slightly more recognizable than your coin. Celtic, Atrebates & Regni, Commius. Circa 50-25 BC. AV Stater: 5.42 gm, 17 mm, 7 h. Southern mint in Britain. Obverse: Devolved head of Apollo facing right, with two "hidden face" motifs. Reverse: Celtic horse facing right, with remains of charioteer's arm above, chariot wheel below. ABC 1022, Van Arsdell 350-1. NGC AU, Strike 5/5, Surface 4/5. Ex Chris Rudd Sept. 2014 & Sept. 2006.
Thanks everyone for kind comments! My last "day off" was on April 30 due to a rainout. My only "free time" for coins is after I get home from work/ finish supper (10:30-11:00) John
Your Wolf is standing right/ also coin has high gold content/ beautifull I got mine from Chris Rudd Auction/ my Wolf is standing left/ low gold content.
Mine came from Joe Linzalone of Wolfshead Gallery. I think he has a special affection for these coins. He had several when I bought this one from him at the Bay State coin show in 2019.
