Got this in the mail today. Started collecting Byzantine coins
that had Regnal dates. Narrowed my focus to Justinian I follis'
that are larger than 40mm.This little beauty is 42+mm and
weighs 22.43g. I've got about a dozen that fit the 40+mm
requirements. Post any Regnal dated Byzantine coin or a recent
    purchase. Thanks, Tibor 7413480_1750839945.jpg

Justin II with Sophia, 25mm, 8.85 g, Year 8 (AD 572/3). I bought this because of the odd Roman numeral for 6, which I found interesting. IMG_0367.JPG IMG_0363.JPG

Some time ago I shared this Justinianus I:

    Æ 40 Nummi (1 Follis)
    31 x 32 mm, 17.495 g

    Bithynia, Nicomedia (today’s Izmit, Turkey), regnal year 31 = 557 – 558 AD, 1st officina (A)
DOC I, 137a; Hahn, “Moneta Imperii Byzantinii” MIB 113a; Sear 201 (180 combinations of regnal year, mintmark, and officina letters known.)

Ob.: D N IVSTINI – ANVS P P AVG Bust facing in helmet with plume, diademed and cuirassed, holding globus cruciger in r. hand. On l. shoulder shield decorated with horseman and fallen enemy motif; in r. field, cross.

Notice how the celator rotated the letter "D" 90 degrees counter clockwise to fit the space near the hand.

    Rev.: Large M between A / N / N / O – X / X / X / I; above, cross and beneath, officina letter A. In exergue, NIKO
