Yesterday, I received in the mailbox three AE3 bronze coins, two of Constantinus and one Licinius, little addition to my collection. Also on Saturday, the coin show is in my city, so I intently think how much I spend and on which emperors to pay attention.
I agree. All three have nice green patina. I like #1 and #3. #2 is OK but the deposit(?) in front of the face distracts me a little. #1 is particularly attractive. That portrait and the details of the helmet are superb.
All are very nice! I think the green patina is just the lack of white balancing. It looks like the coins were resting on a paper towel, which is probably white rather than 1970s avocado green . Here's a somewhat color-corrected version of the first image:
I guess it's left up to me to like #2. I think that's a "Prince of the Youth" PRINCIPI IV-VENTVTIS coin. Even in an imperfect state, that's a fairly scarce reverse for Constantine.
