Here are some of the new coins from the Heartland show of another thread. Here are 2 Lincolns, I am sure you will like these 1909 issues. #1 The shine on the edge below is from the lighting. Coin #2 and a couple of common date Morgans that were nice looking. And sorry, I was trying a mix of incandescent and Fluorescent and got some gold tone that is not on the coin. Dollar #2
Nice pickups. The penny is suurb and I don't even know how you photographed it. Intresting to see it from the side. Morgans are high detail and clean. Great photos ruben
Four nice coins, but I must comment that coin #1 is simply the perfect brown lincoln, IMO. Gorgeous coin!
I don't know the identifiers for proof, but that 09 looks suspiciously like a proof to me. Nice coins!
I would about guarantee the 1909 is a matte proof. Exceptional strike, note the way the fields meet the rims at a nice sharp angle, flat full rims, and the edge is full and meets the rims at a SHARP SQUARE angle with a semi mirror finish. Everything I see about that cent says PROOF.
Yes, the first coin is an apparent matte proof ( bought as such). I am aware of identification problems with them, but the rims were extremely squared like my other 2 matte proofs ( slabbed) and I couldn't find any mental objection to buying. I figured that if it was "just" a MS, it would still be good. I did include the "Edge" shot on purpose as educational. Nice going guys!:hail: Jim
Sweet Lincolns !!!!! Hard to tell diagnostics from pics sometimes, but the rims sure look like a matte.
I knew there was something about that 09 that I really liked, besides the surface color and condition. I noticed the rims were sharp but, not being a Lincoln expert, didn't put it together that it was a matte proof. A beauty nontheless. Bruce
