Only 250,000 of these coins will be minted for circulation....

Compared to the other UK £2 coins which are minted in the 10s of millions

"A total of 250,000 coins will be struck"

If true a modern day rarity.

In my opinion however...not a pretty design.

It is a cheap design akin to that "God Save the Queen" design from a few years back. Just atrocious.

I'm really not looking forward to the olympic opening ceremony, it's just going to be about London not the UK

I for one do like the design. I guess its not meant for circulation. Too bad; I have a friend in London who could have got me one.

Got my 2 Pound British Coin a couple of days ago. Direct from the Royal Mint. I had to wait almost 3 Months to get it. Cost me 14.42 Pounds, which is about $27 in USA. Beautiful coin. It has such a bright mirror finish, I could not keep the reflection of the camera off the coin. Also got the new Circulation set at cost of 8.46 Pounds. These are awesome
