Don't know if everyone has seen these yet they are the new dollar coins my wife works at a coffee shop and someone paid with these today she bought them home for me. Just though i would share them with everyone enjoy. Fronts: The backs are all the same: Here is a closer look at the Thomas Jefferson one you can see that it has the dates they where in office on the bottom.
nice coins bud, you been collecting long? I have no idea how many of these I have spent, it has too be over $300 by now. I am doing my part too get them into circ.
Sharing is GOOD. Nothing to be sorry about! That's three more than I've seen in circulation myself. Thanks for showing them.
Hey, no problem, ShoeK. While most of here are familiar with these coins, not everyone in the general population is. As a matter of fact, I wish more people knew about these coins and would use them in everyday purchases (like they were intended to be used) instead of just socking them away. Maybe these coins will get you interested in coin collecting. This is a great place to learn if you are so inclined.
Oh i do collect Hobo but mostly notes and world coins but starting to get interesed in US coins we will see.
Lucky you! I've been asking for them for a bit now and still haven't come across even one! Who knows maybe Becky drinks coffee where your wife works!
I do I like them, and think they are a very good way of getting youngsters interested in the hobby as well as the history of your country. I also think the same about the State quarters
always glad to see someone new to the hobby. (just need to find about 300 million more collectors to meet the mint's projections). Thanks for sharing OP.
I am sorry if i came across as being mean, I in no way meant too do that if thats how it sounded, I do agree with others that it is a great way too start collecting and i support it fully. please dont take what I originally said too heart John
so then... no more Sacs? I thought you guys (America) were trying really hard to get those into circulation.. Did those flop too?
oh I see.. So then were there any Key varietys for the circulated ones? I have a few Sac's I have 2 2000 D's and a 2000P (with an actual P mintmark.) I also have 1 that is similar to the ones in the OP but mine has Washington on it. Why isn't there a date on them?
Still got the Sacs. We still have everything here in the US. After all, we're a country that worships waste. Spend billions on a new dollar coin program, but keep the dollar bill in production. I say we need coins in every denomination from one cent to $100,000, and everything in between. Why, it just has to work. Besides, the gov isn't flipping the bill for it. Ok...rank over. Guy~
