Never Thought about this One

    So, it is my understanding that you need more than 50% of a dollar bill to make it valid. Anything under people would just rip their bills in half. I was wondering what percentage of a coin needs to still be in tact to be considered legal tender? Was looking through a roll of "cents" (almost put pennies, would have got scolded for that one :)) and came across a penny with a perfect star cut out of the middle of it. Thanks for the help.

    Mutilated coins are redeemed by the mint by weight.
    Goodluck on that one, unles you have a ton of them.
    Or, just roll it into a roll of cents and leave it for 'found-in-rolls' to write about.
