    Nero Drusus AE sestertius. 36 mm, 22.7 g. NERO CLAVDIVS DRVSVS GERMANICVS IMP, laureate head left / TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG IMP P M TR P, Claudius togate, seated left on curule chair, holding branch, shields and arms around. S-C in ex. RIC 93 var

    The style of the OP coin strikes me as odd. Is it barbarous? Who here is comfortable with these?

    There are others. The good news is many were marked as having been sold as replicas. Of course a mint state replica can be bought and brutalized into a damaged fake sold as real. Dirt, blowtoarch, feed to a goat --- so many ways to add 2000 years to the age.

    ...with NCAPR countermark. I bought this in 1988 from a younger Frank Robinson. Centering could be better but it is not a coin I ever felt the urge to sell.

    Done some research, found the coin range from 34mm to 36mm, a few sites that had 36mm was (1) Forum Ancient coins (2) Heritage world coin Auction (3) Classical numismatic Group Auction (4) Roma Numismatic LTD auction, I believe it is genuine, but I will have it checked out!, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

    The first coin in this thread is a modern forgery. We get these in about once every 3 months. They are easily recognizable once you know the dies.
