Nemesis-Nike: so much for Google!

    It's not uncommon on Roman provincial coins that deities exhibit syncretism between their attributes, in which case they are usually referred to as compound deities. This is particularly common in the case of Nemesis. See @Jochen1's excellent write-up here for more info.

    For example, Nemesis-Dikaiosyne is depicted with both the wheel of Nemesis and scales of Dikaiosyne.

    Nemesis-Homonoia is depicted with both the cubit rule and wheel of Nemesis and the cornucopiae of Homonoia.

    And Nemesis-Nike is depicted with the wheel and wings of Nemesis as well as the wings and wreath of Nike/Victoria.

    Which is all well and good until you try to Google "Nike Nemesis" for more info. Unfortunately, the shoe company Nike has a model of shoe called Nemesis. This is pretty much what comes up on the search.

    Yup, it's happened to me too, lol. You have to admit it's a great name for a shoe brand.

    Try googling Roman Nike Nemesis... you'll get better results.
