IoM: That's a real beauty. I might just keep my eye on that one even though the starting price is fairly steep. Thanks for the heads up.

That's a beauty alright. It's going to make some collector of Nemaususes very happy.

This is the late variation with PP on the obverse. The seller's description seems reasonable assuming his coin is better than his photo skills because the patina is not the easiest variety to photograph. The value of the coin depends on whether that rough patch and blotchy color are made worse by the photography or if they look that way on the coin. It has very minor adjustment scratches. The deal breaker to me is that the die cutter failed to plan ahead and leave enough room for a proper snout on the crocodile. There is a border beyond it so what we see is what was on the die. I'd call the portraits decent in style but the crocodile is not good work. The seller starts at 200 euros and I suspect that would be a fair price. Obviously the realization depends on how may of you go crazy. It will probably sell to a dealer who will offer it on VCoins for twice what he pays and wonder why no one buys it. Considering the patchy patina and roughness, loss of the right P in PP and the short snouted croc, I'd not pay over the start. Someone will.

Nice coin. The price probably is about right, right now. Watch the price go up if there are a lot of people interested in the coin.

It's similar style to the OP coin (fairly nice details, but not much of a croc-snout) ... "average" according to dougsmit

    ;)
