I noticed all my brand new individually packaged airtites have contaminants (lint and sticky stuff). Is it safe to put silver coins in them?I tried to clean one and it attracted more lint from the towels (cotton & microfiber) I was using.

You can used canned air blower to blow it all out. Just do it from a bit of a distance so no condensation appears.

Is it safe for coins? I thought compressed air and not really air but something else. I'm afraid that this "something" may stay on the holder.

You should be fine as long as you hold the can fully upright and get no liquid out of the can. Tilt the can and you're gonna get liquid more times than not.

Yep, canned air is the only way to go.

Yes, as long as you use it in the manner I previously described.

I have these too, but hesitate to use the brush on holders. I figured it may leave hairline scratches on the Air-Tite Holder. Is there such a risk?

Canned air (held upright) is the way I've always elected to clean holders, just seems wasteful and an added expense to have around.

I've never had a problem with hairlines on the holder. Acrylic is tougher than many realize.

I'll have to finally give it a try then. Thanks!
