Howdy nursea - Welcome to the Forum !!

Based on your description it sounds like a French 10 centime.

It's a french 10 centimes from 1923, KM#866a, made of copper-nickel, there are two kinds: with a mint mark and without (there were 18 milion struck of no mark and 30 milion with the mark), either worth at most $4.50 in uncirculated condition.

This coin lists at $1 or $2.50 in XF depending on the mint. This is the grade it's frequently found though many of them were worn. Probably the worn coins were melted since they aren't often seen. XF's will show all the detail and the high points of the designs will show almost no wear. There should still be a lot of mint luster (shinyness) on this issue at this grade. Uncs are surprisinly elusive for a coin that is so readily available in high grade. These list at $3 or $4.50. These prices are probably pretty accurate but XF's won't sell very often and will be found in poundage.
