Need Some Help Penny

Trying to help my dad on this one. I can't find an example like it online any where. What would this type of error be called? Is this worth anything if so how much.

It's half of a "Magician's Coin." The inside has been accurately machined to be a container, likely for a Dime but possibly to create a storage device while retaining the appearance of a Cent.
