I just purchased two coin albums for a cheap price of $10 total. I haven't had much luck in identifying them through Numista and the Krause Standard Catalog of World Coins. This is from Album #1
Most of them are in Krause and should be easy to identify. I think a few of the items in your second post, #1, #3 & #4 are some type of amulet or charm, not coins. The "cash" type coins are probably in Krause 1701 - 1800.
All of them are in krause. However mint and dating are not in Krause, at least not for the cash coins. You need a specialized reference for them. David Hartill's book Cast Japanese Coins is a good english language reference for these.
The Hartill book is called "Early Japanese Coins" and serves as the only really decent recent English reference for pre-Meiji Japanese coins. It's fairly inexpensive and simple to follow. I've read it cover to cover and it was time well spent.
Thanks for the help. Its weird when I look at the list in the album there are 8 rin, 2 rin, 1 1/2 Mon, 2 Mon but I don't find those denominations in Krause.
