Not from what I see, or at least of the type you would want. It's tough to get the hang of this, I know, but keep at it. Aside from educating yourself as to exactly what you're looking for, a good exercise to train one's eyes is to search out the painfully common "DDRs" (single squeeze) in the late memorial series, ranging from the later 90's to 08. Such "doubling" will appear usually as just a small blip to the right of left of Lincoln's statue. Many examples of this can be found on Wexler's site, but certainly there are many more than you'll find listed. Put it this way... I'd be very surprised if you didn't find at least a few from searching 8-9 rolls. Do consider giving it a try.
Take a look at the link below. WDDR-001, 004, 005, 006, etc show the type of "doubling" I'm talking about. http://doubleddie.com/715534.html
Thanks,. My grandfather left me all of his collection, and I have hundreds of coins including Morgan dollars, barber knuckles, dimes, quarters, and half's. Alot of paper currency, some silver certificates, old foreign notes, liberty dimes, about40 ,64 Kennedy half's ,Franklin half's, and alot more old silver. And then there are these lincolns. I have a ndreds of wheaties and even more memorials. He never turned any in to be registered or graded, but told me that tbere were several error coins and varieties in a s collections. So now I am trying to learn and find out just what is here. So I thank you for any advice or information you pass my way.I'll probably end up selling everything, but for now I'm enjoying myself.
Of course, and you're certainly welcome. Even if not directly interested in varieties, the above suggestion can still be helpful both in said training your eyes, but also in paying closer attention to detail as well as anomalies. It's worth grabbing some rolls from the bank to give it a try, especially since you've nothing to lose. Good luck.
I've actually have cents that have these errors on them. I mostly over look them but his back being doubled was pretty pronounced which is why I posted and asked for some feedback. Thanks for the link.
He told me he had a 1961 cent worth over 1000 dollars, but I have like 15 1961s and been trying to check into which one he is talking about.
That, at least off the top of my head, isn't something that is making much sense. Unfortunately, many people believe their coins to have unrealistic values, often based upon what they're heard or misinterpreted from unreliable sources. Still, if you ever think you've figured out which it is, please feel free to post.
I will definitely do so. But I am reasonable. I expect little but I know my grand father. He was collecting them since the 20s, and he always shot straight with me. Either way, I'm learning .
I am in no way an expert but it appears to me that the top of the 1 and 9 may be doubled on the tops.....the amount of doubling appears to be the same amount as the back of Abe.....Good Luck and look closely
