Once everyone gives you their estimate I'd sell it to the highest bidder ...personally I'd be a buyer at around 5$-8$
not the same thing though a dealer today at the coin show was selling slabbed MS67 presidental dollars (all years maybe except for 2011) for $5..
The NGC Census lists only 106 in this grade, and I'm guessing that PCGS would have about the same. Considering that there were more than 3.7 million struck, $25 would be in the ballpark. You guys are just being too cheap.......er.......frugal. Chris
I'd bet that there are plenty of MS67s out there that have not been graded because people feel they are just not worth the grading costs. I feel that these Sac's, Pres. and NA dollars are going to be plentiful in this grade and maybe in 68 too. I've gone through 1000's of Sac, & Native American with the US Mint's direct shipping plan and pulled out the best I could find. Believe me, there weren't many. But If I saved 20 out of each 1000, then there are many more saved by others doing exactly what I have done. I have yet to submit one for grading. Bruce
What I've concluded about the coins from the Direct Ship program is that these small dollars were in bags way too long before being rolled into these "special" wrappers. The condition of these coins was terrible. Most were so banged up (it's not like they were Morgans that sat in vaults for decades) and many developed an ugly haze probably from improper storage. I've been working on a short set of MS68 Sac's, 2000-2008, and I've examined thousands of them, too. They're not as easy to find in MS68 as you think. Chris
I agree. I was saying that the MS67's aren't very rare and I think the 68's are much rarer. But I still believe that not many people are submitting these modern coin for grading as they think they aren't worth the price of grading. The coins I examined were quite beaten up. Way too many bag marks to just have been rolled after being minted. Chris, have you submitted these coins for grading for your MS68 set? NGC or PCGS? Cernainly not SGS or GEC. (Bad joke). If so, how have they come back, graded? Bruce
