If anyone has the Feb 2014 Legend-Morphy catalog and is willing to scan and email me one page from it, please PM me. Although the prices realized is posted on Legend's website, the catalog itself appears to be absent. It's possible the catalog is actually posted there, but Legend's website is quirky, to say the least. Thanks in advance. Cal
To break the mystery for others, it was an 1864 small motto two cent proof. Very rare and very cool. Maybe I'll buy a couple dozen ... not! Cal
I've thought about posting a guide to their website, but have never figured-out enough of it to make a guide. There are multiple versions of the site that have different things. For some catalogs with prices realized in html format, there is http://legendauctions.hibid.com/auctions/past/. Some prices realized w/o catalog can be found at http://www.legendauctions.com/pricesrealized.php. They also have what they call old versions and new versions of the their website(s). What is there today may not be there tomorrow or may have a different URL or a totally different look. It's often easier to explore their website via Google searches than trying it internally within the site. In addition to their own site, they post some of their catalogs on www.coinworld.com/auctionlibrary.html. The catalogs here are usually in both html and pdf format. Making a digital library of their catalogs is a challenge ... to say the least! Cal
Here's the best I could do with a cell phone photo of a photo..... The coin isn't exactly round, the color is off, and there are plenty of other issues, but it gives you a flavor of the coin.
