Need Opinion on Error

I only know some basics on error coins. Perhaps some of you could increase my knowledge as it pertains to this 1893 IHC. It appears double struck with the obverse rotated left about 130° from the first strike and the reverse rotated right about 135° with the second striking reforming almost the entire coin because it stayed in the collar. I think. Am I right? Is this worth having graded? (I see PCGS charges $50 for errors and with the fee and postage cost will approach $80.00). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would suggest sending that to either Rick Snow or one of the attributors at Coneca. I see potential in that coin. The reverse has the same degree of another hit.

Wowsers! that's great. It's legit and I say that primarily because you can make out the world "UNITED" on the obverse around 12:00. And it's not backwards, meaning it wasn't faked. And yes, it's "double struck in collar".

For the record, 1893 is a particularly tough year to find errors in the series. I only have 12 Indian cents left before I have a complete set of Indian cents with errors, and that year is one of them.

It is a nice double-struck in collar. I can offer a guess to the value - if I had it I would peg the price at $500.

Jerry: It's just something I enjoy doing. I think I should make it larger?

Congratulations Jerry! That is a BEAUTY!!! You ask, "Is this worth having graded?" If it was mine, I certainly would have the coin graded and encapsulated.

Good luck and keep us informed.
