It's a 2 Reales minted in Mexico.

 

So it's a mexican coin?

 

Spanish (Mexico was part of the Spanish Empire at the time)

 

You would find it listed under Mexico, in most references. But Brian has a point that it is, technically, a Spanish coin, as it was minted under Spanish authority.

The mint mark is the small o over large M.

1747 was the first year of that type, I believe.
