I keep most of the coins in a safety deposit box at the bank . The ones I want to look at I keep in Intercept Shield Boxes , even my slabs get there own IS box .

I guess for me it depends on the coin. I have some in boxes (monster boxes), some in a safe, and some at my box at the bank. Diversification is key.

It has been stated here over and over again that you should not keep coins in a gun safe that has been used for weapons. Molecules of oils and solvents that are used to clean weapons can be harmful to coins.

And if made of wood, that's another problem (I don't know what gun safes are like).
Actually ANY wooden container is a likely problem.
Organic volatiles outgas from the wood and are bad for coins (probably paper too).
