Hi. Could you please help me identify this possibly ancient coin, hoping that it is genuine? It weighs 15.5 grams. Thanks.

If it is silver then it would appear to be a Myring Tetradrachm similar to my coin below. It is a type that is faked though your coin doesn't match any of the fakes I am aware of.

Aeolis, Myrina, Tetradrachm, Mid 2nd Century B.C.
Obv:– Laureate head of Apollo right, hair braided, ribbons flowing behind.
Rev:– MYRINAION left, Apollo Grynios advancing right holding patera and laurel branch with fillets; omphalos and amphora at feet; monogram left, all within laurel wreath
Minted in Myrina. Mid 2nd Century B.C.
Reference:– Sacks, ANSMN 30, Issue 25

Thanks Mar. The coin is silver and looks very old indeed . The reverse has a lot of green spots and does not seem to be flat, but rather curved. And, most of all, the coin is oval shaped , and not round. How can I find out if it is genuine?
