I don't know myself but I'm sure you'll find out here on CT, but I wanted to see it and it looks pretty nice. Bob
I have found a $5 Same Bank in CHCU listed for a $110...no reference on the $3 yet..paper looks totally different to me compared to the $5 and the $1 The $1 in VF is ~ $40-$45... Wish I had a Haxby's Reference for you but I do not. Alot of the Obsoletes are trimmed close and into the design....something funny about that note...the paper just does not look the same....I could be wrong but I am suspicious. The notes I found are all from Ann Arbor and the year was 1854....I am not sure of the earlier printings for this Bank. See what I mean??? Plus as an 1834 it is unsigned and I am not sure about "Remainders that early! Best I can do I am afraid. RickieB
That's why i like this place so much,i think we will let this one pass. Thanks,God bless,Keith and Hunter
Keith... I hope I am not preventing you from this. It could be real, I just have no knowledge of it. The paper just looks fake to me and it could be foxing or yellowing. This note is NOT listed in the known Fake Notes of Michigan! What I will say is that if it were me I would buy that $5 (Blue 5 I just posted) let me know if you are interested and I will give you the site. Regards, RickieB
Thanks Rickie, for the advice.I know what you say is not written in stone. My son and I,have only been doing this, for just a couple of years. We really enjoy this site,my son just made 14,and thanks a lot of you Rickie, when he reads something that RickieB has written,he believes it.After reading your advice and opinion, along with others,I told him to wait.He is interested in the five, but not sure if he will have enough money, but would like to look at it. Thanks to all,God bless,Keith
aocurrency has an issued $3.00 in UNC for $125.00. I would pursue that one over this damaged note. http://www.aocurrency.com/images/images-mi/BANKOFWASHTENAW-$3-CU.jpg
Keith... Thank you for the kind words...I too have a Son, it is important to me to be honest, the Marine in me knows no other way. I am humbled by your sons feeling....I hope that I can meet his expectations. Ialso want you and him to know that there are a lot of other people here with experience and knowledge that exceeds mine. One thing for sure is that we can all learn from this site, me included. There are some folks here that simply amaze me! Best regards, RickieB
Keith, I found a CU signed note like the one you posted for $100.00 and a AU-CU for $85.00. The note that you posted has not been signed by the banks officials so the note would be considered remittance note or an unissued note. Here's a picture of the CU note http://www.glabarre.com/item/Bank_of_Washtenaw/3372. By the way the building that had housed the bank still stands and it is know a florist shop. Lou
