It's from the UK, and in circulated condition, is worth ... £2 (just over $3.10). The edge inscription is part of a quotation from Sir Isaac Newton (talking of his scientific advances) ... "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants". The concentric circles represent advancing technologies, from the centre out: - Iron Age (primitive tools) - Industrial revolution (gears & cogs) - Computer age (printed circuit board) - Internet (data connections) Minted since 1997 in this bi-metallic composition (but from 1986 in another form).
