Just got the Hartill book, but I'm having trouble finding these. I have them listed under Schjoth, but I think I'm wrong on the attribution. Would appreciate any help with these. Yes, these three cash coins were all issued in Northern Sung Dynasty. Here are my identifications: 1.Jia You Tong Bao Issued between Sep, 1056 and 1063 By Emperor Ren Tsung who ruled from1023 to 1063 2.Yuan Feng Tong Bao Issued between 1078 and 1085 By Emperor Shen Tsung who ruled from 1067 to1085 3.Zhi Dao Yuan Bao Issued between 995 and 997 By Emperor Tai Tsung who ruled from 976 to 997 The last two have the clockwise legends while the first one reads like Top Bottom Right and Left. Both forms were common at coinages of Sung or Song Dynasty. But in later dynasties such as Qing Dynasty, the latter form became the only standard one. And you may also have noticed the difference of Tong Bao and Yuan Bao, both legends were commonly used in Sung Dynasty, but it looks Tong Bao would become the more standard form in later dyanaties. Sorry, I cannot give you the reference numbers because we don’t use such system here. Hope this will help! Assur
