    hello all!

The reverse of this small(15mm) coin should read MV LT. Instead it reads M II* L T.
I would appreciate your interpretations of this.
    Thanks!

Just a badly formed V. Nothing unusual.

Martin beat me to it. It's a "V".

The dot between the V and L is simply the central layout dot from using a compass on the die when laying out the border of dots. Almost all coin dies had one but most got erased when something was cut in that part of the design. It is not unusual to see II for V, H for A, III for N or M and even IVI for M at various times. Fonts happen.

I guess I just have to get used to a fact that when it comes to all things Rome, nothing is what it may seem :)...
