So I'm going through some cents that I've had for a while and I came across a Test Token. This is the first time I've ever seen one of these.

It is around the same diameter as a 2007 cent but it is thicker. It is not magnetic. As you can see in the pic it has no date. One side is English and the other is French.

Anyone have any more information on this token? How can I tell what year it is from?
What are Test tokens used for and are they valuable?

    Thanks

They run about $15 - $30 in uncirculated condition. With wear about $8- $10.

Test tokens are used by the mint to test a new product (coin) in the production process. Eg. platings, metal tolerances, and for the conformity of the electromagnetic signature etc..
