I just joined PCGS order to submit a couple of fractional notes. In the package they sent me was a $2 bill. I understand 85% of the abreviations on certified bills but what does the ' F W ' mean on this PCGS header?

The note was printed in the FW (Fort Worth) Texas printing facility.

Thanks for the quick response. Is this a common abbreviation i. e. listing the printing facility?

Generally it is common to see either FW or DC as they are the printing facilities for the BEP.

Notes printed at the Fort Worth facility have the letters FW near the right position letter and plate number. Those printed at the DC facility do not have a specific designation.

....and if it helps, as far as the $2 denomination goes, ALL (since series 1995) have been printed in Fort Worth.

That's good info. THANKS! I'd like to show you all my two fractional notes, if you don't mind. The first one FR1230 has a problem with the lower right corner being just nipped by poor cutting. Besides poor centering I'm hoping for a 62PPQ. It has no
folds smudges, pinholes, or bent corners. It's like UNC. Good coloring, not fantastic though.
the second note is a FR1242 with just a little better centering. Really nice color and is in just as pristine condition as the FR1230. Was the paper made from rags for these first edition notes? I heard that it was.
Sorry, I messed up on the sequencing of the photos.
