Need help with a possible siscily, Syracuse Greek coin!

    My uncles friend said that his father found this coin while plowing his garden, in America I believe it is a fake, but for the sake of my uncle I said I would post and seeehat your Allan thought were!

    Can you read the legend under the head? It might be the manufacturer's name. It looks like copper with a thin silver (or something shiny) plating. Stearns bicycle company made some copies around 1900, but they had the company name on the reverse in the exercise (and are cruder than this). It's probably some other 20th century replica.

    That is not the Sterns (see below). Stearns was located in Syracuse, NY, and you could get one of these when you mailed in for their 1898 catalog.
