need help with a 1920 wheat penny error

    Hello, I found this 1920 penny that appears to have been struck 3 or 4 times with the press. I dont know much about coins, and have no idea what im talking about. lol But have a look for yourself. Any idea if its worth anything? thanks c1.jpg c3.jpg 1212100110a.jpg c4.jpg

    that is what is known as post mint damage, that is the coin was damaged after the minting process and has no added value. Sorry! Welcome to the forum

    yeah im diggin thru pennies right now...lol. Guess this is the poor mans version of treasure hunting huh?

    It looks counter-stamped with 4 Xs. Some people collect counter-stamped coins.

    I have several I've saved just because they are different.
    This coin might be "small letters in a rectangular stamp",
    listed near the bottom after 'Z'.
