Hello, i got the whole bag of coins and having some issues with some of them. I would say its trash but prefer to double check before throwing away at nearest beach.
Thanks for any info! Please see pics attached. 20171228_203218.jpg 20171228_203122.jpg 20171228_202957.jpg 20171228_203247.jpg

Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please never do that! That's destroying history, they don't make those anymore ;). Sorry I can't help with identification.

    Thanks,

I see a variety of ancient types, recognize a couple of Byzantine, one that looks Ptolemaic, one that may be Indo-Scythian... You should definitely post over on the Ancients section of this site, the combined expertise there is astonishing. A few of your coins might be copies, but others looks probably genuine; unfortunately, it's hard to say based on your photos. I would strongly recommend taking new photos that clearly show each side of each coin (and keep track of which front goes with which back) to help with getting accurate identifications. There's nothing super-valuable jumping out at me, but don't throw out any of this yet! It may still be of historical interest even if the monetary value is not very high.

You might have an interested buyer so don't just throw them out yet.

They don't look like replicas so they might be worth something. I noticed that there is one coin that looks like an overstrike - third photo, third coin in the second row. Would be interested to see what it is!

Top Left in the First Pic - Definitely Byzantine Empire - maybe a 40 Nummi around the 7th Century?

Third Pic Down - Center Top Coin - Looks like possibly a 5 Nummi - Justinianus I - From the Byzantine Empire - Date (538-542)

I dunno if that helps a little or not, but I'd definitely keep them! People in the Ancients Forum would surely be a good place to go! Nice Coins!

Ask the Mods to move to the ancient forum. Just don't tell them you're going to throw them on a beach. I know they can identify and they look like history anoints in them. A very nice start.
