View attachment 153731 I need help. I can't determine the last digit on this date. I think there is a die break on the last digit but the rest of the digit does not resemble any of the other numbers. It does not look like a 5 nor a 7 when I compare it to another 1975 or 1977 cent. Any suggestions on what we have here?

looks like a thumb opening a beer bottle...(I have no idea). Judging by the rest of the surface damage, my guess would be PMD.

Welcome to the coin talk forum. Something has hit the last number of your coin and damaged the number. It looks like it may have been a 1975 cent.

I know the cent has been through a lot of abuse. I here include a picture of a 1975 cent. I still am having trouble seeing it as a 5 but I do not have the experience to say otherwise. Thanks.

Does it really matter what the date is? Whatever date it is it's still a damaged, common cent.
