Any thoughts on the rim top extending to the letters of T,R,U, on obverse?

You got me. I don't think I've ever seen that. Unless it's just PMD, Post Mint Damage, I have no clue.
Someone more knowledgeable and experienced will take a look shortly and give you a much more informed opinion.

Yeah, I voted twice, once because I like the number 3 and twice because I want my vote for the number 3 displayed publicly.

I finally got a microscope and added two more pictures. I've taken quite a few pics and even with that the penny confuses me as it looks different in each photo. I know under a looper it has what appears to be part of an A,N,W (angle) that runs through the inner U but it doesn't show up in this photo. Then it looks like part of an I that runs along the R. In the top photo you can see two circular crescent moon strikes and in another photo under TRUST there appears a curved streak, and in yet another photo there appears to be gouges that are between the T&R & R&U maybe part of the crescent moon shapes where they end. I don't have good eyesight but even on the back it appears to have marks that look like the top of letters near the rim. Each pic is different and it makes it hard to tell if I'm just seeing anomalies or what!

Another coin was pressed into it (hammer, vice, or something similar) at least twice. The round dents in the field are from the rim of the other coin and you can see it continues tthough the rim above the date.

    Sorry,but it's not a mint error

Actually, now that you've explained it, you can see/follow the lines around. It looks like that may have been done as many as 4 times.

    Thanks, Hoop !

I had no idea. I knew I was seeing the crescent moon shapes and thought these were possible broadstuck, like a bounce effect which somehow distorted the lettering and rim on TRU. I'm such a Newbie at coin collecting and having lack of knowledge and bad eyesight doesn't help so, thank you kindly for explaining this to me.

Keep learning and growing. We were all new collectors once. People helped us when we started and hopefully we can pass it along
