    It's either Spanish or Spanish colonial. The pictures are simply not clear enough to be sure, but you may have a .8750 gold 4 escudos of King Charles IV of Spain. If that's what it is, it should weigh 13.54g and have a diameter of about 29mm.

    Mintage is unknown. My 2002 edition of the 18th Century Krause volume values it at $200-500, depending on grade, but the actual gold weight of .3809 troy ounces gives it a bullion value in the $650 ballpark, so BV has surpassed collector value.

    i do not think it is gold i have done some reserch on it and found gold ones but i dont think mine is gold

    Its a counterfeit of an 8 escudo. A bad one at that.

    There is a digit 8, how can this be a 4? Didn't find this one in the catalog, yeah, might be fake.
