Not sure if this is the right forum. I have 2 items that I want. I searched the internet to no avail. These seem to be so much nicer/better than current offerings. At a minimum, I was hoping that someone would know what these are and most importantly, whether they can be ordered/made. I checked into China and at $1200 min. I can get 19mm I.D. at 100mm long no caps at .04 ea LOL 30k of them! any ways.. First up. Anyone know what type of snap this is? I was thinking of using these in an Intercept Album for my best of the best.. The plastic is much more scratch resistant than any other plastic including slabs IMO the clarity is near perfect. I did manage to fit one into an album hole - reamed it out a bit with a tapered dowel.... definitly negates the need for the slides. Anyone interested in going into business? I think the snaps are far superior to album slides.. would just need to include a reamer for enlarging holes. Second up: This tube is so nice IMO again, I suspect it is the same plastic as the above snap. The caps are super tight with zero tolerance, I thought it was glued at first, it may have been at one time. I didn't pull them all the way off. There is near zero movement in the tube, clear caps negate the need for stickers.
The snaps appear to be E&T Kointainer Kointains, not sure on the tubes. I prefer Harris/Whitman coin tubes, as they are clear, durable, and have a threaded cap (more secure).
The capsule may be a Kointainer except these are flat so there is no distortion which is a huge plus when photographing. I am sick of what looks like cardboard dust in the 2x2 flips - that can not be good! The Kointain touts it's convex surface which isn't that big of deal if it is the same thickness plastic. I ordered a bag of 100 cent size from Brent Krueger. Hopefully I will be able to fit them into the Intercepts and dansco.
