I came across this medal and am trying to find out anything about it. It was listed as a Grand Army of the Republic medal, but I don’t know anything else about it. It appears to be related to the Society of the Cincinnati http://www.societyofthecincinnati.org whose members are descendants of Washington’s officer corps. It is not listed in Rulau and Fuld’s Medallic Portraits of Washington. If anybody knows anything about the medal or can point me in the right direction to find someone who might be able to help me, I would very much appreciate it.
