Hi Everybody, A freind recently inherited a collection of ncient coins. These 3 were packed seperately and are apparantly special. Can anyone help identify/price them. Thanks in advance, Aryeh Jeusalem, Israel
Thank you for your reply. These coins were inherited from a respected collector, so I would be surprised if they were forgerys. In any case, assuming they are forgerys, I know the first is the Sheqel from the first revolt, but what coins are the other two "forgerys" of? Thanks again, Aryeh
Judaic coins aren't my specialty, so I can't really give specific identifications of what these were imatating, but they are definitely not ancient. I would be worried about the rest of the collection of ones this bad made it in. Do you have pictures of any other coins in that collection?
There's a lot more real ones in there. Can you please edit your photos so the obverse and reverse are in the same file? It can be done in MS Paint. As it is now, I can't really tell what goes with what.
