I bought this coin in a coin fair yesterday, but I don't really know what it is....I'm guessing India. Hopefully someone here will be able to help! The condition isn't great, but it was only £2-diameter 19 mm photographs: http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/JeromeLuchesa/UnknownArabicCoin
the link is working for me but the pics are too small for me to read and confirm if its from india or not the piece certainly doesnt fall into akbars time frame could be an independent issue or arabic
Looks like an Indian temple token, similar to several posted in this thread: http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=20912&highlight=temple+tokens
It is the same piece as this: http://www.imb4u2.myby.co.uk/stuff/ind1.jpg http://www.imb4u2.myby.co.uk/stuff/ind2.jpg Thus temple token from the early 19th century or late 18th century
definitely urdu and i think upside down really cant read it well enough anyway but if its a temple token those are not really worth a lot of money unless they are gold ones
yup the link has it covered in th epost from ballabh it has akbar elements in it thats why i got confused about $10- to 20 based on the conversation in that thread
