Someone gave me 5 of these without knowing where they came from or remembering how they even got them. I've attempted to find their origin online with no luck. Both sides of the coins are the same, so I'm thinking they may just be tokens of some sort. Any thoughts?

That is Japanese katakana and translates as momeko.

When I was stationed in Okinawa decades ago they had Pachinko Parlors everywhere. The first thing I thought of when I saw your token was Pachinko.

Thanks everybody, I'm sure they're tokens of some sort. I tried google'ing pachinko tokens but couldn't find anything like the coins I have, but I wouldn't doubt that they're something similar to game tokens. Nice novelty to have though!

Oops, my bad, it says mo-na-ko in Japanese katakana which is used for writing foreign words (or what they consider foreign words). Might be the name of a Pachinko parlor and be a token used there.
