Sorry if this is the wrong thread, but any and all assistance in identifying this coin or locating more information on it would be more than appreciacted!
its a 1946 something. From italy or the Vatican. On the obverse you can see the designers name MISTRVZZI. He also designed the italian 100 Lire coin. I cant find it yet
I don't necessarily think represents Italy as coinage. Rather I think it related to the church or other ecclesiastical subject. The words are Latin, which is a basic language of the church, regardless of what country it's from. Further, on the one side are three heraldic symbols, one of which is topped with a crown (German Imperial Eagle), and the other two are 'crowned' by tiaras, and have the heraldic emblems on shields. The one on the lower left is six fleur-de-lis, which may represent either France, or even Florence, among others. The one on the lower left is a dove with olive branch above three unknown (to me) items. The one side, rather than representing the Vatican, may represent a particular religion or church, or something along those lines. Obviously, it's 1946, but aside from that, I haven't found on google where there is an item like this. Aurelio Mistruzzi (1880-1960) was a proficent medalist. It is a beautiful piece. Sorry I can only speculate on this.
