I looks like F12 based on Photograde.

How can you get to FINE with the rim worn into the letters on the reverse. I would net grade this coin at a VG at best. A $10.00 to $12.00 coin in my opinion.

    Thanks,
    Bill

"A $10.00 to $12.00 coin in my opinion."
    And not much more.
    Thanks, Bill.

    Looks like:

    - eBay "Gem BU" Price - "I'm not an expert, but It's gotta be going up in value!!!!!!111"

    - CoinTalk.org "F-12" Price - Not more than $0.50 over melt.

    - Vroomer's Grade: "I'll pass" Price - "No thanks."

:D And a good morning to you all.

    I'd give it a VF20 -- worth about $20.

1924S is a semi key date isn't it?

The rim is not a critical area for grading a coin. The face of Liberty and the Feathers on the Eagle on a Peace Dollar (the high points) are the most critical for grading. Although the rim does play a part but it is very minor.

If the rim is worn into the lettering as it is on the reverse, it is very critical to the overall grading of the coin. I can assure you that a rim such as the one seen on this coin is not a minor factor in grading this coin.

I never see peace dollars selling for $10-$12 unless they are damaged. You guys have better coin sources than I do.

    I would say F-12.
