    Alexander III 336 - 323 gold Stater Macedonia Amphipolis Athena with Corinthian helmet on obv. Nike standing left holding wreath trident in field
    2,000 - 2,500 (give or take hard to say exactl, low detail shot)

    IF it is authentic

    forgive my ignorance, as I know nothing of ancient coins, but isn't the fact that it is in an ICG holder a wonderful indication that it is in fact authentic?

    Not in my opinion...There are some real ancients experts out there I would trust, this isnt one of them. But to each his own. :)

    ICG is the only TPG who even grades ancients. They are highly respected by all in the field.

    No, David Sears also runs a grading service specificly dedicated to ancients.

    Yes he does. There are others besides him as well who perform a very similar service. But to the best of my knowledge none of them actually slab the coins. Because of that, I do not think of him, or the others, when talking about a TPG in the traditional sense.
