    Hey guys,

So I've been acquiring quite the collection of 50 cent pieces but my problem is how to store them. This has also been an issue for me for toonies. What do you guys use to store coins? I know for my American stuff I use Dansco albums and occassionally whitman ones even for some canadian stuff. Any help is appreciated, thanks!:D

IMG_0497.jpg I think you would be best off with Air-Tites. Get the diameter of your coins and order what you need. New they cost about 35 cents a piece. Have f:hail:un.

Hi North. I'm not from Canada, but do collect Canadian coins. That said, with the exception of the $1 coins, the Canadian coins seem to fit fine into my Whitman holders. So, I think you shouldn't have a problem storing them. Unless, of course, I'm missing something key regarding nuances of 50c pieces that I just can't physically observe.

Well Canadian 50 cent pieces are smaller than American half dollars so the whitman folders don't work. The airtites are a good idea. I'll head over to the coin shop today and see what they use/recommend. Thanks guys, I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'm still new to collecting. But for what its worth I like the numis albums, they're more money then the Dansco but I find it easier to organize my coins. For example with Loonies there is a period for a few years where they weren't issued for circulation so I left those places empty and have been filling them im as I pick new coins up. I also use a lot of 2x2s. I find the ones sized to fit quarters are the most versatile because they fit quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies. The advantage of the 2x2s for me is primarily that they are inexpensive, but that because I'm new to collecting I can make notes on the 2x2 of anything interesting about the coin. The 2x2s also make it easier to store the coins in a box in my safe.

I use the 2x2 and can pick up penny/nickles/quarters/ halves/ or dollar size at 4.50 cdn for 100. I store mine in the 2x2 and then in plastic sheets in a binder.

That must be nearly finished already hey?
When I start accumulating enough of one series I ditch the pages and put them in long coin boxes that fit 2X2 flips. Not the easiest for viewing, but it can be extremely organized, and fits in a safe way better. I would suggest 2x2's unless you want them easily accessible for viewing as a "set".
